i walk

Pushing on the morning of your absence
Your eyes
In my mind's eye
An ocean blue in an oncoming tide
Opens to great waves on a horizon’s kiss.

Pushing on the morning of your absence
Your breasts cupped tender
With hands empty
I feel you in ways of a daydream.

Pushing on the morning of your absence
The memory of your goodbye burns holes
In my heart
The water I drink pours out
As dust to the gravel road.

Pushing on the morning of your absence
I walk the road barefoot and feel the pain of
Separation cut my feet.

  1. Loss is always painful. But I somehow feel without it, we mere mortals would not savor what we do have when we have it.

  2. Luis - Thank you.

Stickup - Yes, we could not recognise as well the good as significant without having the pain
    alongside.

  3. These lines are so romantic.
"I walk the road barefoot and feel the pain".
How can a man understand poetry and not be a
    poet himself?
    You give me joy!
