haunting, yes, but not with saddness. perhaps the geography is forlorn, but it is life here. it is not forgiving, but it is beautiful. it is both life and death. it is work and it is the peaceful respite of the fog. it is a new day. it is home.

erin - i wish you had been with me on Sunday. it was quiet but for bullfrogs and small birds. so beautiful the slight mist, clouds had such definition with the sun coming up. these two spoke to me, guided me into the photograph. they were still so very proud. this place is unforgiving in its starkness and beauty.
