sleeping man
working man
looking back at us
sometimes wide eyed and mischievous
other times deep in troubled thought
we ought to look more
into those eyes
pen and ink and charcoal love created
at that story telling pose
portrait of one man and many
of us all.
you see how this happens, robert, don't you?
ReplyDeletehow we mirror one another,
how we reflect,
ask,
and answer of one another.
if only if only
we were all open
honest
vulnerable
and shed of harshness.
what a world we would be.
and for now
we listen to
and look to
soft
careful
open
and discerning
men
like you
and william.

Robert and Erin, I’m lucky to know you both. We haven’t been acquainted very long, but you already enrich my days immeasurably. Let my thanks to you be a light thing. Let it flutter like wash on the line. Let it be joy, and mischief, and melancholy. Let it be the wink of an eye. For I will blink, by and by....
ReplyDeleteTalk about writing and photography going well together! Something quite wonderful is going on here...
